Ernst & Young Names World Entrepreneur of the Year

In an awards ceremony in Monte Carlo, Indian billionaire and founder of Infosys Technologies Narayana Murthy was selected as Ernst & Young's World Entrepreneur Of The Year® from a field of 26 national and regional finalists. What's especially remarkable about this is Murthy's approach to running his company. Judges' comments included praise for his "intellectually-, philosophically-, ethically- and spiritually-driven entrepreneurship". In spite of his immense personal wealth, he still lives in a very modest apartment and believes that personal wealth should be used to make a difference to society. He contributes a majority of his wealth to public causes. This is truly one of what Robert Allen and Mark Victor Hansen refer to as an "enlightened millionaire".
