Government support for small business failing in New Zealand, South Australia

Business leaders in both South Australia and New Zealand are calling for major changes to the government small business support programs, citing a lack of confidence from business owners, and ineffectiveness of the governmental departments in influencing critical national policy.

I agree that the government needs shot. They talk about plans to assist small business in NZ during the recession but Im afraid that help is going to come too late for many. Banks are tight with allowing small business to extend overdrafts to cope through the crisis forcing people into situations where they have no choice but to close down and lose everything. I know of several businesses that have shut their doors, with trade dropping dramatically I wont be far behind them. What a shame to see small retailers losings it all while big business with huge profits are favored with assistance.
