About.com's New Look, Coming Soon on About Entrepreneurs

Thursday April 29, 2004
If you're a previous About.com visitor, you've probably noticed by now that we've updated our look. Some of the things most relevant to you as a reader include...
  • (Hopefully) clearer navigation. Rather than a top menu and a side menu, everythings very clearly down the side.
  • Better visibility for the Channels. For example, take a look at the Small Business Channel for content from our other Small Business Guides. Those channel links are now at the top of every page on About.
  • New category pages replacing our old subject pages. What's the difference?
    • More listings above any ads.
    • Better cross-referencing to other categories.
    • Ability to sort alphabetically, by posting date, or by Guide recommendations.
    • Denotation of About.com content vs. off-site content.
  • Fewer pop-up ads.
In conjunction with these changes, I have some new tools to play with that make it easier for me to bring you great content. So, in the coming weeks, here are some of the things that will be coming to About Entrepreneurs:
  • Guide to Famous Entrepreneurs
  • Free e-mail courses in starting your own business
  • A greatly expanded Business Ideas and Business Opportunities section
  • A new, expanded Entrepreneur's Glossary
  • Weekly featured case studies, interviews, and book reviews.
Also, feel free to contact me with your suggestions as to what you'd like to see on the site.

Enjoy!
