I've had the privilege of having quite a few mentors in my entrepreneurial career, both entrepreneurs who I've worked for and people who have advised me along my various entrepreneurial paths. As entrepreneurs, we easily fall into the trap of thinking we have to go it alone. We're on a tight budget, and working like crazy. We may not have the support of our friends and family. It's the road less travelled.
That's why you need someone to walk with you who's been down that road before. A good mentor acts as a guide for your entrepreneurial path. They're not a coach, who focuses on performance, and they're not a consultant, who focuses on a specific problem.
