Thinking about buying a franchise as way of owning your own business? It's a great way to reduce your risks, because established franchisers have proven plans for operating a successful franchise and resources to help you do so. But what franchise should you pick? And how do you go about meeting the requirements to own a franchise?

Some of these sites go a step farther and offer free consulting to prospective franchisees.
