SBA Announces Web Chat Series for Small Business Owners

Thursday July 7, 2005
The U.S. Small Business Administration is launching a live Web chat series on entrepreneurship beginning in July. The monthly chat sessions will feature successful entrepreneurs fielding questions from the participants. The first chat will feature J. Scott Plank, chief administrative officer of Under Armour Performance Apparel, on Thursday, July 21, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. EDT (10:00 a.m. PDT) on the topic "Entrepreneurship: Innovative Strategies for Small Business Growth".

Here's a little bit about Under Armour from the press release:

Under Armour Performance Apparel was inducted into the SBA's 2005 Hall of Fame, awarded to former small businesses that received early-stage SBA assistance. Under Armour, headquartered in Baltimore, Md., is the originator of performance apparel, a line of moisture wicking microfiber clothing that pulls perspiration away from the skin to keep athletes cool, dry and light throughout the course of a game, practice or workout. The company employs more than 450 people, and received the SBA honor based on its exemplary leadership in the business community, innovation, growth and job creation.
To join the live Web chat visit www.sba.gov and click "Your Small Business Voice Live Online." No pre-registration is required, but to improve your chances of getting your question answered, you can post it in advance at the same site.

I love seeing our government a) supporting small business and b) actually using current technology, so I'll be there to support it. Hope to see you there!

Hi - can you recommend the #1 resource for communicating with fellow entrepreneurs? Like, an Entrepreneur “club” or message board, chat room?
