Simon Cowell - Music Mogul Millionaire

When Simon Cowell first came into the eye of the American public in 2002 as a judge on American Idol, most Americans had never heard of him, and his scathing remarks left many wondering just who the heck this guy was and what did he know about the music business.

Turns out he knew quite a bit. He had run his own successful record label in the late 80's and was one of the youngest and most successful A&R consultants at BMG.

His big turn, though, came with his relationship with the British show Pop Idol. Although his only official relationship with the show was as a judge (no, he's not a producer of the show, a common misconception), it was his label who signed the top two finalists of the first season of Pop Idol. Since then, his relationship with the shows and the artists have made him a multi-millionaire.
