New Guide to Franchises - Don Daszkowski
Ever thought about buying a franchise as a way to own your own business? Franchises generally offer a proven business model, a reliable supply chain, brand recognition and national marketing support. Of course, all that comes at a price, but the success rate with established franchises is significantly higher than among entrepreneurs generally.

Wow, you’ve done some great research and got some powerful links here. But I still say, the way to make money is to set up a frnchise and sell the idea to others, in other words, be the franchise owner! Even a little idea based around a hobby is food for franchising! And when you consider many frianchise opportunities can only cover a small geographical area per franchisee, well, the world’s your oyster! Great marketing tip! But I do sometimes wonder if corporate persons with a few tens of thousands to spare aren’t too fast to buy themselves into another ‘job’ when they could equally start a business straight from scratch and later franchise that out. However, the real upside of buying into a franchise is the safety of the company image and proven brands.
Whatever happened to risk management?
Don,
I was not able to find your email address on Businessmart.com so I thought i might reach you this way.

Michael,
Here is the email I sent to you when my 4 month trail was up to ensure that you did not charge me anything for your site as it did absolutely nothing for me what so ever. I have just found out that you have been charging me $34.95 per month since apx. January of this year. That means you have charged my credit card apx. 6 months time $34.95 or $209.70. I had no idea that you were charging me and assumed since I discussed this with you both on the phone and followed up in the email I will copy bellow to ensure that was not charged for your site. The reason I now noticed it is that last month I was very close on my account but based on my calculations had enough money to cover my checks. Thanks to your companies illegal practices my account was overdrawn and I received apx. $125.00 in overdraft fees from my bank. I am now formally requesting in writing that you refund my credit card the $209.70 that you have charged my account without my authorization and against the exact request I made to you over the phone and in email. I also request that you refund my credit card an additional $125.00 dollars to cover the overdraft fee from my bank due to your illegal practices.
If you agree to refund me this total of $334.70 immediately and immediately remove any information regarding me from your site including any of my credit card information after providing this information to my bank I will consider this matter closed and resolved. If for any reason however you decide not to do this I will use the email list I have with every realtor in the United States of America and every member of the Commercial Realtors boards I am a member of to send them all information on how useless your site has been to me and how I was charged after being promised I was not going to be and then was even given trouble about getting this money refunded. I will ensure that every commercial / business realtor knows about your practices, that every realtor from any industry knows of your practices and I will also file a law suit against your company for this amount of money, court costs, legal costs with my attorney / friend and any other expenses I can come up with. I would much prefer to not have to take this step and hope that after you review my account and even find the email I sent you requesting not to be charged that you will handle this immediately. I am glad I kept records and all the emails back and forth to you on this matter as my friend the attorney said with that information I have nothing to worry about we will most certainly win if you choose not to handle this matter quickly.
Here is a copy of the email I sent you to ensure that I would not be charged after the 4 month period was up:
