Ideablob Awards $10,000 Monthly for Great Business Ideas
I've written before about the growing open innovation trend being pioneered by sites like Fellowforce and Spigit. Ideablob is another site supporting the open development of business ideas. And they're putting some money behind it too -- each month, the idea voted best by other Ideablob members wins $10,000 to pursue its development.
Past winners include:
- Penn State student & inventor Matt Allison for creating a portable touch screen device that syncs with a fitness-based social networking website. (more)
- No Sweat Apparel CFO John Studer for the company to continue producing their newest line of organic cotton knit t-shirts at a Palestinian-owned factory on Virgin Mary Street in Bethlehem. (more)
- Penn State student Aaron Fleishman won for Mashavu, a student project providing networked health solutions for children in third world countries. (more)
You can join for free and review and vote on the ideas, offer advice and build your reputation and submit your own idea for a shot at the $10,000 monthly prize.

Scott,
I think this is proof alone it is a good idea to share your ideas. So many people are afraid of sharing, in fear of someone else stealing the idea - yet ideas are worth something only if they are executed, not just thought about.
Here’s the proof.
I am very pleased with activities of this site & Mr.Scot Allen avout field off innovations&inventions.
Thank you and go ahead.

Scott,Ideas are worthless ,I agree, and I take the chance showing my Ideas to companies , Showing an Idea to a company is useless unless you show it to them through your eyes , every one see things differently,Take the pet rock for instance ,back around 1974 , there are many rocks on the ground ,who would think to pick up a rock call it a pet rock and make money….ideas are like rocks on the ground , let them see what you SEE ! Thank You! Steve Pallotti
Scott, Now think of this , I show a company an idea that works , and at the same time I am showing them this idea is working for them , from the start , and gain there interest , just as the rock ,you need to show them your energy that you own with what you are selling! Steve Pallotti
Scott, I have many Ideas , and they are all no good until I show show them to you !The best IDEA (INVENTION),Is one you could show to a company that will make them money with little or nothing to invest from the get go!Steve Pallotti
I have seen people get their ideas stolen right from under them after being rejected by management. It hurts; however, without the means to execute an idea yourself, sharing is worth the risk

SpringWise.com is another site people can look at. They go about it a little differently to IdeaBlob et al.
