Startup Stories #3
Here's another collection of inspiring stories from entrepreneurs willing to share them on their blogs:
- How a Bag of Ice Revolutionized a Catering Company - A great lesson on customers' perception of value.
- My 2-Year-Old Sales Prodigy - Henry Pellerin tells a delightful story of insights provided by his daughter.
- Demons - Uber-consultant Alan Weiss looks at a self-defeating attitude that plagues many entrepreneurs.
- Scratch My Back - Selling your product before it's ready is risky, but it can have a big payoff when it works out.
- Becoming Successful: Getting Started - Some simple tips for getting your business off the ground.
- Start Me Up - Going to work for a startup, from the employee's perspective. You should hire people like this.
- How To Become A Millionaire and Get Rich In 10 Steps - I almost skipped this based on the title. I'm glad I didn't. An engaging story sets the stage and some beyond-the-norm depth make this lengthy post well worth the read.
- Social Networking - An Old Practice Made New Again - Denise O'Berry looks out how some things haven't changed much in the past eight years.
- Know When to Say When - My own personal story of calling it quits and taking a j-o-b, as told in The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur.
That's it for this edition. If you'd like to have your own story included in a future edition, please review the posting guidelines and then submit your post.
A couple of quick notes:
- I'm going to make Startup Stories bi-weekly rather than weekly. It's a better fit, given my posting frequency and the availability of appropriate entries.
- If your entry didn't get included, it was for one reason: it wasn't a story. Beginning, middle, end. Not bullet points. Not how-to's. Narratives. See above for examples.
