I've spent the past 48 hours more or less consumed by Gary Vaynerchuk. I'd heard about him and finally got around to reading his book, Why Now is the Time to Crush It! (HarperStudio, 2009).
The book is only 142 pages and you can read it in a sitting. But when you finish it, you won't be able to sleep very well. He will challenge you to take whatever your passion is, and use social media to turn it into something big. Once you check out his websites, he gets his claws into you even deeper, with loads of videos in which this sloppily dressed, potty-mouthed guy with a high-pitched voice makes you squirm, knowing that you are not working nearly hard enough to make your vision come to life.
Vaynerchuk made a fortune in his dad's wine business. He built it from $4 million to $60 million in five years by developing his persona as a wine expert and then using social media to create a community (more like a cult following) around his outsized personality.
He created the community through a "no excuses" approach to taking advantage of the biggest change in customer acquisition and relationship management ever, represented by Twitter, Facebook and the rest.If you have entrepreneurial DNA that isn't fully activated, his book and videos will make you twitchy. In a good way.

My business partner and I have been designing a marketing strategy built around social networks. We have a manager who ‘does his thing’ to make this endeavor successful. We are completely confident this is the way to energize our business. I will make sure to read Gary’s book. Thanks for the info.
I could only understand about half of the podcast. Maybe it was because of WMP.
Love Gary, own the book.

I read Gary’s book in two sittings. It is great- highly recommended!

Gary is a real inspiration. For some, he gets under their skin and they can’t take him. For others, like me, he’s a fanatically passionate people pusher.
If you get a chance go to his website and watch some of the videos he has done. Don’t miss the television show appearances. He’s a very down to earth guy with big messages and a big mouth to get them across. I don’t find him at all annoying!
i believe what matters most is what you have passion for, if u look at the immediate factor facing you,you will feel like giving up but, when its driven from the inside u break through. am just joining this group and looking forward to networking and learning from you all. thanks
