Listen guys, I've got a secret for you. There's an incredible trove of amazing resources for your business, totally legit and free...and it's probably right down the street. That's right. Your local library!

I don't know about you but until sometime last year, I had let my library card get a little, how shall we say, dusty.

But I heard about an incredible program at my local public library called Power Up! This is a rather unique program at the Brooklyn Public Library in which would-be business owners craft business plans in the hopes of winning a $15,000 grant. However, because Power Up! provides so many free resources in terms of classes, access to mentors and much more, basically everyone who participates is a winner.

Power Up! exposed me to what a trove of resources the local library can be for entrepreneurs, so I went straight to the source to learn more about specific tips and tricks aspiring business owners can use at their local libraries. Mary Carroll, Senior Librarian at the Brooklyn Public Library's business library filled me in.
