How do you eat a whale? One bite at a time, of course.
I stole that line from the new Netflix series House of Cards. It's something that the Machiavellian main character, who's played by Kevin Spacey, says. It definitely resonated with me. I am someone who's always tempted to bite off more than she can chew, but am also constantly reminded how much business success is reliant on a more deliberate approach.
Your business plan won't materialize whole cloth out of thin air. It's not something you can just toss together. But the process of chewing over all of those important considerations within will help you plan a much stronger business.
So while the idea of writing a business plan may be daunting, it's an essential step toward defining your vision and, more importantly, raising money.
So in keeping with this month's very important theme of writing the business plan, I've broken down the process into steps, and more importantly, created a "time budget" that will help you break down the tasks into something a lot more manageable. So in three months or so, you'll have in your hands a very nice little business plan.
I figure it's easier (and faster) than eating a whale.
