Welcome to the Carnival of Entrepreneurship!

The Carnival of Entrepreneurship is a traveling weekly blog carnival featuring the best of the entrepreneurial blogosphere. Each week, a host blogger reviews submitted posts and selects and posts the seven best, in their opinion, along with their editorial commentary.

As a reader, this is an easy way for you to keep up with what's going on in the blogosphere without having to read dozens of blogs just to get the good stuff.

As a blogger, submitting your best post every week is a great way to increase exposure for your blog. And hosting a weekly edition is even better.

Submission Guidelines

  1. Posts should be on the topic of entrepreneurship, starting and running your own business. Tips that people can actually apply will almost always win out over abstract stuff. “How” beats “Why”.
  2. Posts should be current, i.e., within the past couple of weeks, and preference will be given to posts from the past week.
  3. Posts should be "complete". As a corellary to the above, posts that refer out to articles or other sites for more information, or that have anything to the effect of “Watch this space for more information” are going to be among the first to be cut.
  4. Inform, don't sell. Don’t submit posts that are nothing more than a pitch. An occasional post like that may work in the context of your blog, but if you think it’s a good idea to submit that for a carnival, you’ve definitely got a thing or two to learn about marketing via blogs.
  5. Posts should be submitted by 5pm EST (22:00 GMT) on Wednesday. If you submit after that, it may still make it to the host, but it may not.
You can submit your post for the next edition at BlogCarnival.com or at Conservative Cats. You can use either, but the BlogCarnival form will go directly to the weekly host, saving me a step and ensuring timely transmission.

Hosting Guidelines

  1. Review the submission guidelines regarding the types of post we're looking for.
  2. Select only the SEVEN best posts, in your opinion. Huge carnivals defeat the purpose. If it doesn't serve the readers, it doesn't serve the participating bloggers.
  3. If you don't get seven posts that meet the above guidelines, please seek out posts on your own to fill out the edition.
  4. Please add at least some minimal editorial commentary, not just a description of each post. It's just more interesting reading and makes you look better too.
  5. Post your carnival edition on your blog by 5pm EST / 22:00 GMT on Thursday so I can include it in my weekly newsletter on Thursday night.
  6. Be sure to link back to this page and encourage readers to submit in the future and sign up as a host.
