Sharon Dotson, APR, is an award-winning Houston publicist and public relations expert. Her boutique PR firm, Bayou City Public Relations, specializes in securing positive media coverage for successful niche businesses. She is a former newspaper reporter, magazine editor and freelance copywriter for hire, whose clients have seen print in Entrepreneur, USA Today, Inc., Chicago Tribune, Houston Chronicle, Dallas Morning News, New Orleans Times-Picayune, Priority, Cosmopolitan and many others.

A 25-year veteran of the media and public relations field, Sharon has won many awards from the country’s recognized PR professional organizations, including Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), National Association of Mental Health Information Officers and Texas Public Relations Association (TPRA). In 2003 and 2004, she won five PR awards including an IABC Bronze Quill Award of Excellence and a PRSA Gold Excalibur.

As an accredited member of the PRSA since 1993, she is a leader in the Houston PR community where she has served on the boards of both PRSA-Houston chapter and TPRA. She served on the board of Houston Financial Council for Women. The Federation of Houston Professional Women honored her as a Woman of Excellence.
