Why is your business unique and what's your pitch?

South Shore Home Solutions, LLC is a Short Sale/Foreclosure Resolution company. We help homeowners who are currently behind on their mortgage and owe more on their property avoid foreclosure, save their credit and move on with their lives.

What led you to start the business?

I love real estate and I love helping people. Those two natural desires that I have had my whole life led me to start www.SSHomeSolutions.com. We specifically help this critical mass of homeowners who are facing one of the worst epidemics that this nation faces today, work out a short sale. All I had to do was look at the numbers.

* 1 in 6 Americans are behind on their payments.

* From those 1 in 6 Americans who miss one mortgage payment, 80% of those will NEVER be able to catch up.

That's when I immediately knew that I had to use my experience of helping hundreds of people in foreclosure for almost a decade now, help even more.

So, with today's falling real estate market, many homeowners are finding themselves over-burdened with unmanageable mortgages but unable to sell their homes. They presently owe more on the mortgage than their homes are worth, they can't manage the mortgage payments, and they can't sell their homes.

A short sale is where the bank agrees to discount the mortgage on the property in order for the home to be sold for less than what is owed on it. This is a win for the seller because it allows them to get rid of a large debt they cannot pay and restore their credit, it is a win for the bank because they don't have to foreclose on a property and they get rid of a non-performing loan.

So after two years, the great news is that the industry standard is that only 1 in 3 short sales actually closes. SS Home Solutions, LLC closes 90 % of our short sales!

Lessons Learned

  • I QUICKLY learned that service is most important when it comes to dealing with homeowners who are facing foreclosure . They are losing one of the most important business/emotional investments of their lives. There is a grieving process during and after foreclosure much like that which is experienced after the passing of a loved one. Bottom Line: Your clients are NOT just a number. They should be treated like a family member who is losing their house and their dream. Always remember that they are going through a a life-altering experience. This is what separates us from everyone else.
