Why is your business unique and what's your pitch?
I opened the first infertility consultancy business in the U.S. and built this new, niche business from the ground up. Today, Lotus Blossom Consulting is a thriving business with clients in over seven countries around the globe. Over the past few years, several other infertility consultancies have popped up, likely seeing the success we have achieved.
What led you to start the business?
After battling infertility myself for over three years, I felt discouraged, alone and incapable of making an informed medical decision. It was then that a business idea began to take shape. I realized that there was no one in the industry to help facilitate the infertility process (i.e. how to financially plan for fertility procedures, how to know what questions to ask, how to find the best doctors and lawyers and how to emotionally cope with the situation). I knew I could be this person and threw myself into this industry, and my new company, with a mission to bridge hope with results.
Lessons Learned
- I have learned to adapt to every situation that arises. Adaptability has enabled me to recognize when the business model is working and most importantly, when it is not working. It has been these important stepping stones and experiences that have enabled me to put my ego aside and morph into situations and relationships that have made my business unique.
