Why is your business unique and what's your pitch?

SizeWize.com offers something that no other sites do: An innovative tool (patent pending) that allows users to enter their measurements and choose the brands/retailers in which they are interested. Results are returned, offering the correct size for those particular brands, as well as a link to their websites.

Another feature is “Closet Search”. Instead of using measurements, pick an article of clothing out of the closet and enter in its size and brand. SizeWize will compute the correct size for all other brands and retailers. Over 150 brands’ and 50 retailers’ sizes are included.

What led you to start the business?

The concept behind SizeWize is simple. Shopping online is frequently an exercise in frustration, because when buy clothing without trying it on, women have to guess at the size, and often end up purchasing clothing that doesn’t fit. Finally, one busy mom, Amanda Fries, who loves to shop online, decided to do something about it - and developed the unique new website. Fries did market research in her target market (women 17-65) to determine brands and retailers they wanted included in the site.

Lessons Learned

  • Vanity sizing is real and causes issues for women. SizeWize is working diligently to spread the word about this fantastic free tool.

Mitchell York, Entrepreneurs Guide, says:

VERY clever idea. So how do you make money? Advertising on the site? From clothing vendors?
