Why is your business unique and what's your pitch?

I teach women how to take their "big idea" and turn it into a tangible product. I also teach them how to run their business, marketing, sales, PR and more. One of my specialties is teaching them how to get celebrity clients and use that to leverage sales and PR. Once you work with me, you will know everything you need to know to run a successful company.

What led you to start the business?

I launched my first handbag line in 1997 and had no mentors. I wasted a lot of time and money on needless mistakes and a VERY long learning curve. I was sold in every major department store and over 1200 boutiques nationwide. I was in every fashion magazine as well as having appeared on Extra, E! and Access Hollywood as I had a big celebrity following. I grew that business (Sarah Shaw Handbags) to $1M in sales over 5 years then lost my financing after 9/11. I was asked by several accessory firms to come in as a consultant over the next year and it gave me the idea to start Entreprenette.

Lessons Learned

  • Most of the lessons I have learned were before Entreprenette which is why I am able to teach women what has never been available to them before. The biggest lesson I have learned in this business has been about the difference in marketing a tangible product vs. a consulting package.
