Why is your business unique and what's your pitch?

AnyLuckyDay.com where companies come to receive promotion for their products or services through contests and social media. Companies purchase a day on the calendar, and then their product or service is given away in a contest format where thousands enter to win. Using a calendar based model, each day increases by $1.50, so January 1st started at $1.50, January 2nd was $3.00, January 3rd $4.50, and so on through the entire year.

What led you to start the business?

I was watching an infomercial late one night and wanted to be able to try the product out before I bought it. I thought about contacting these companies to see if they would like for me to test their products and give them away, and it eventually turned into an advertising and promotion service for companies to promote themselves. Since 2009 I have worked with nearly 200 companies, including Snyder's Of Hanover, Flip Video, Griffin Technology, Keurig, Peek Mobile, and many more.

Lessons Learned

  • Businesses need to do research in order to teach themselves things so that they can keep their overhead low. From past experiences, I've learned how to keep my overhead low to allow for the largest amount of revenue.
  • If you are passionate about something, stick with it no matter what people tell you. In 2009 I started AnyLuckyDay and had hundreds of people telling me the idea would never work, and that companies would never send me their products, but I worked hard and stuck with it and have made it to where I am now.
