Two Great Blogs for Entrepreneurs Revitalized
There are some great blogs that have languished into inactivity for whatever reason. I only included blogs that have been very consistent in their posting, but I highly recommend reading the archives of Entrepreneur's Life and re:invention. I'd love to see these people posting again.Well, Entrepreneur's Life has a new life, and re:invention has been reinvented.
In his most recent post, Michael Cage at Entrepreneur's Life asks, "Why do people equate being a realist with preparing for the worst?" His answer:
I believe entrepreneurs should avoid realistic folks like the plague. Let someone else catch their disease. Preparing for the worst is NOT the same as being aware of possible outcomes.Ahh... a man after my own heart! It's a fact that most successful entrepreneurs are optimists. Of course, there have been a lot of optimistic entrepreneurs who have failed, but they usually just get back up and try again. Consider all the possible outcomes, but if you want to succeed, act as if you expect to, not as if you don't. As Henry Ford once said, "If you think you can do a thing or think you can't do a thing, you're right."
Over at re:invention, Kirsten Osolind honors the new year by taking a look at business rituals, beginning with one of the most important, expressing appreciation. She says that gestures of appreciation should be specific, deliberate, authentic and sincere. She also says (and I agree) that it's not only OK, but actually a good thing to express your appreciation publicly. It's not about showing yourself publicly in a good light (although that's a nice side effect), it's about showing them in a good light. Public appreciation serves them well.
I'm glad to see both of these great bloggers back at it, and I encourage you to add them to your regular blog reading.
