What led you to start the business?
We wanted to fix the things that drove us crazy as entrepreneurs starting a venture of our own. We wanted to help small business entrepreneurs stop the chaos, and stop letting leads and customers fall through the cracks, which happens all the time. Every lead is important for the entrepreneurial small business owner; but email, customer data, shopping carts, lists, segments, marketing, sales...that stuff is disjointed and keeping it organized sucks hours of the day away. This is not acceptable and there should be a better way. We have made that better way happen, because we've been there and have a sole passion to help small businesses truly grow by putting all of these capabilities in a single hub. Sales and marketing should be running automatically as a singular operation, without adding staff, so business owners can focus on what matters.
Lessons Learned
- 1) Make sure your own finances are in order so that you can separate business and personal expenditures.
- 2) Have long term or future vision, because it is so easy to get lost in the weeds without one. Even if it's only six months out. You NEED this.
- 3) Stay humble and admit you can't do it all. Bring in experts where you don't have the expertise.
- 4) Don't let any leads or customers slip through the cracks. This is why we started our business.
- 5) Don't be a vendor - be a partner. Don't just sell something. Add value by looking at yourself as a partner to your customers.
