Why is your business unique and what's your pitch?

Been running a successful photography business for 10 years; in late 2008 saw an emerging market in producing short promotional/marketing videos for businesses web pages.

With the growing popularity of sites like YouTube and seeing the consumers willingness to watch video on the web, it seemed like a perfect marketing tool.

We now are continuously producing pieces for web sites and promoting the videos (and our clients) on YouTube, facebook and Twitter.

What led you to start the business?

Many consumers are less likely to page through deep web sites looking for information, but with a 2-4 minute video the business can present all of the information that they want the client to see and hear right there with one click.

By the end of last year we had completed 3 or 4 pieces. Now we are shooting 3-4 per month. Clients see our work on their competitors or colleagues site and know they need a video too.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, then a video is priceless!

Lessons Learned

  • Be at the beginning of the trend
  • Find out what you will need to make the perfect idea work and INVEST in it. The payoff will be worth it.
  • Create the best work you possibly can...there is no such thing as "good enough." Your extra efforts in the short term will bring more clients and assignments in the long term.
  • Keep educating yourself and stay ahead of the curve. As you discover what "The Next Big Thing" is, find ways to make it work for you and your clients.
